Following the success of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre it seemed only a matter of time until a similarly toned film would be released. The writing team of Robert and Steven-Charles Jaffe wrote a script meant to be directed by Massacre Director Tobe Hooper but when Hooper was unable to helm the project, director for hire Kevin Connor was brought on changing the direction of the picture completely and on October 18th, 1980 MOTEL HELL was released.
